FAQ's

1. What is the shelf life?
Ans. Three years from production, stored in a cool, dry area. This is a "best before" date.

2. What is the weight of the pack?
Ans. The Hot Pack weighs about 480g and the Action Pack about 425g.

3. Where is the food made?
Ans. Our food supplier is Westler Foods in North Yorkshire.

4. Why is there a small amount of bleach in the water sachet?
This is included to help prevent any unsightly algae build up after time. The water is included in the pack solely for activating the chemicals in the heater pad and is not for drinking! None of the water comes into contact with the food, so any water can be used.

6.Who do you supply?
We supply customers in the Military, Emergency Services, Government Embassies, Humanitarian Relief Organisations, Local councils, Security companies, Highways agencies, Search and Rescue, Private companies, Balloonists, Climbers, Walkers, Motor Sports fans, Extreme Sports participants, Yachties, Bikers, Anglers, D of E participants, Scouts, Guides and many others who buy Hot Pack or Action Pack to use in leisure or work. Many of our customers who started to use Hot Pack in 1995 are still regularly buying and using today.

7. When was Hot Pack launched?
Ans. We launched Hot Pack in December 1995 and Action Pack soon after in 1996. The Hot Pack and Non Magnesium Flameless Heater (NMFRH) trade marks are the property of Canland UK (Hot Pack) Ltd.

8. What is special about your non magnesium heater?
Ans. We originally used a magnesium containing Flameless Heater produced in the USA. This emitted a metallic smell when activated, which our customers complained about. So, in 2004 we developed our own flameless heater pack using a different chemical mixture containing lime and aluminium. This is cleaner and virtually odourless when activated, which our wide range of customers like. Our flameless heaters are produced exclusively for Canland UK (Hot Pack) Ltd. and they have been and are being used by millions of satisfied customers, worldwide.

9. Are you a member of any trade organisation?
Ans. Yes, we are a member of Advancing UK Aerospace, Defence & Security Industries (AIDIS)

10. Are the meals Halal?
Ans. The poultry and sheep meat in our meals is Halal.
